0,0387 USD/kWh: Solar energy is cheaper than electricity from coal or gas

Solar electricity is getting fully competitive due to ongoing boom of photovoltaics in the world and further due to price decrease of the components. As a proof, PV plant NV Energy signed a contract for electricity supplies for 0,0387 USD/ kWh. The power of this PV plant is 100 MW. It is being installed by First Solar company. They will use thin-film modules in Nevada desert.
